South Georgia is a British Overseas Territory in the Southern Ocean.  Stunningly beautiful and rugged, this island wildlife sanctuary, once visited, is never forgotten. Its snow covered peaks, blue glacier ice are breathtaking sights. A real “oasis” in the stormy southern ocean. Alongside a rich whaling history, the island is home to an amazing variety of wildlife such as penguins, albatrosses, seals and whales. The highlight for many are the wildlife jewels in it's crown; St. Andrews Bay and Gold Harbour. Here, hundreds of thousands of King penguins gather in colonies that almost defy description.
